Ekundayu, clay sculpture by Colette Beardall
In just a few days we will be opening the doors to our 20th annual Sculpture Exhibit, DIMENSIONS 2018. It will take place Friday, October 12th to Sunday, October 14th at Lansdowne Park in the Horticulture Building. Our artists work hard all year long to prepare for this major exhibition and every year we add a few new artists to our line-up. Opening night at DIMENSIONS 2018 is a perfect opportunity to meet them and learn the story behind their art; what inspired them; and their process. This year you’ll see several animal themes in the show. Here’s a little sneak peak of what you can expect.
Above you’ll find some animals by our stone sculptors. From left to right: Down by the Fishing Hole, Brazilian Soapstone by Terry Schaub; Snow Owl, White Alabaster by Uwe Foehring; Looking Back, Brazilian Soapstone by Tom Murphy; Exit Stage Left, Black Chlorite by Patrick Imai.
Working in mixed media check out Edna Lemyre’s Snowy Owl. On the right is an example of France Grice’s new glass sculptures from her “Animalibus” Series. Pictured here is The Young Buck. Below is Sapere Aude, the aluminum metal art of Angèle Lux.
